This reserve is a haven for bird enthusiasts, boasting rich birdlife with many endemic species. The hike takes you through a dense canopy of towering trees, offering natural shade and coolness even on hot days. Several waterfalls dot the reserve, and local swimming holes provide a refreshing dip. Birdwatchers can spot species such as the Sri Lankan Wood Pigeon, White-faced Starling, Green-billed Coucal, Sri Lanka Magpie, Red-faced Malkoha, Malabar Trogon, Sri Lanka Orange-billed Babbler, Chestnut-backed Owlet, and the Lesser Yellow Nape. This makes it an ideal destination for nature lovers and birdwatchers alike.
